Katherine is a 2010 graduate of Drake University Law School, where she graduated with highest honors. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, also with highest honors. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Katherine served as President of the Legal Studies Association and enjoyed running with the Wisconsin Track Club. During law school, Katherine worked with the Middleton Center for Children's Rights, advocating for children's rights in the court system and gaining valuable trial experience. She also put her editing and legal skills to use as Executive Editor of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law and as a participant on the Arbitration Team. She clerked for the Honorable Joseph E. Smith in the 5th District Circuit Court of Iowa and for a very well respected firm on many insurance defense, products liability, and medical malpractice cases. Katherine was admitted to the Iowa State Bar in 2010 and promptly began working for a prominent law firm focusing on insurance defense litigation, worker's compensation, and professional liability cases. In 2011, Katherine returned to Wisconsin to pursue her career with Hills Legal Group, Ltd. She is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association. She is admitted to practice before the Wisconsin State Courts, the Iowa State Courts, the United States Eastern and Western District Courts of Wisconsin and the United States Southern and Northern District Courts of Iowa. Outside of her legal practice, Katherine enjoys long-distance running, baking, and spending time with family and friends. |
